A Bit of "normal"

So it has been over a month since we left Spain.  I miss the ease of knowing where to buy things and the lovely weather.  I miss having my car and driving myself where ever I want.  I miss my morning coffee on the patio.  I miss the kids school start time being 9:15am.  I miss my daily walks twice a day to and from school.  I miss quite a bit about Spain.

But truth be told, I kind of love Changchun.  I am still weirded out by a LOT.  We are like freaking celebs!  You would think they have never seen non Chinese.  Which isn't true since there is a large German population here because of VW.  I am loving the weather here.  So far, not too many bad air days.  Thank goodness!  Lots of sunshine and gorgeous fall temps.  I have only broken into my crazy Fibro sweats a handful of times.  We even have had a thunderstorm!  Not the crazy freak Spanish ones.  But the day long lovely rains.

One thing that has been better in Changchun?  Our air shipment arrived in less than a year!  Actually, a mere three weeks!  I am happily typing away on my iMac.  But I am noticing that a year in storage has done quite a bit of damage.  So I am going to have to figure out how to get it fixed.  Fingerscrossed, it is fixable.  But it is nice to have some of our stuff.  Our bedding has been the best.  I wish I had stuffed our pillows in tho.  Joel said we would buy all new stuff when we got here.  Well, the Chinese like HARD beds and pillows.  My poor body feels beaten daily.  Hopefully this weekend we can find some kind of mattress pad or we will never have guests.  We were planning to move the master bed suite to the guest room.  But that may change.

So now that we have a bit more of normal....  I need to start getting myself back to normal.  I have been enjoying the laziness.  HAHAH..  I kind of been feeling bad about it.  As my Ayi tends to all my household chores.  But she is doing EVERYTHING that I would be doing.  Hopefully I can make some friends and start doing stuff!!

Well its about time I get myself out of my jammies.  It's almost noon.  Gasp!

Poop in the pool

On our very last night at Disneyland Paris, Joel was going to take the kids to the fancy indoor pool at Davy Crockett Resort.  I wanted some alone time to pack and hit the gift shop. :)  The kids had been looking forward to going to the pool since I showed them the picture!  Unfortunately, we just didn't have the time.

I did my little shop and got back to our "cabin".  I had about 15 minutes of quiet before the herd stomped in.  I was quite shocked.  All four kids have grown to love swimming.  I asked Joel who got in trouble?  He matter of factly said, "There was poop in the pool, we got kicked out."  And walked into the bedroom.  WHAT?  My kid pooped in the pool?  Never!  I chased Joel down and demanded an answer.  Thankfully, it wasn't any of my kids, but the small floating log shut down the pool.  For TWO HOURS.  UGH.  So we never got to use the pool.  Thanks awesome parents!

Settling in Changchun!

We have officially been in the house for a week now.  There are still a few odds and ends to get but for the most part we are functional.  We have a driver but using a rental car until our Transit is ready.  And I hired an Ayi.  What is basically a Mother's Helper.  But she does it all.  Cleans, laundry, childcare, and cooking.  Will even feed the dogs!

Speaking of the dogs,  they should be starting their journey today!  It's way to quiet around the house without them.  Looking forward to long walks and discovering our area.  There is a great walkway by a little river near by.  Plus we still have to check out Moonlake.

So far things are going really well for us.  It is a beautiful area and the people are so nice.  We have been enduring crazy amount of attention.  The kids aren't too happy about it but what can I say.  The Chinese just love their blonde hair.  And who knows how many Americans these folks have seen?

We are loving the house.  There are so many projects I want to do!  Can't wait til our stuff is here!  I will post some pics in another post.  I will admit, it is a bit too big for me.  It works for bedrooms and storage but some of the rooms are MASSIVE.  I don't need a Master bedroom bigger than most apartments.

Anyways, I think I am going enjoy our time in Changchun.
