Milly's 1st Birthday

I am now over a month late posting this.  My baby girl is now 1.  Where has the last year gone?  I know, three other kids, a husband that works insane hours, and a lot of sleepless nights.  Thankfully, the last few months, she has slept thru the night most nights.  She will cry out for a few seconds and then go right back to sleep.  I'm start to feel a little less exhausted.

My mother in law flew in for the occasion.  She hasn't missed a single 1st birthday.  I decided since it was my last, go BIG!  I probably have been planning this since she was 6 months old.  A pic here and there off of Pinterest.  But because we have been so busy, I waited until the last week to do most of the stuff.

I decided on a turquoise and pink theme.  And of course I'm not going to be able to find anything I want in Istanbul.  So I decided I'm going to make all the decor.  And make all the food, minus the cake.  I drove myself crazy doing everything but thankfully, my mother in law was a HUGE help.  I did manage to order her birthday outfit from the States.  I didn't notice until two weeks before that the deliver time was 4 -8 weeks!  But some how it showed up over a week before my MIL left.

I was smart and hired the same photographer as I did for Joel's birthday.  I also got a ball pit and a Cotton Candy Machine.  Yes, I went crazy.  And in the process, have upped the anti on the birthday party scene.

Milly was not in a good mood that day.  Not sure why.  She wasn't into the ball pit and she took a nap the first hour of her party.  So all the other kids have a fabulous time!

I fought with her month by month banner.  I was about to throw the printer out the window.  But Jackie was there to say, It's OK.

Poor Joel worked up until all the party guests were staring at him and Thess was getting frustrated she couldn't finish the table!

The Cotton Candy machine was a hit! And has already started making rounds at other parties.  But I'm glad I got the ball pit, because kids hopped up on sugar and nothing to get it out is a bit too insane !

My mother in law, Jackie was the hit of the party.  A bit tipsy but hilarious!!

Love this pic of Milly and Murat!

Finally a smile from the Birthday girl!

Part two to follow!!
