Girl Scouting Camping

Our first year of Girl Scouts in Istanbul is coming to a close.  This past weekend, we pulled off an amazing camping trip.

We found a great place - Kulindag  There are cabins which the moms and Daisy troop slept in and then a huge open area for camping which the older troop did.  We had plenty of room for three large tents, plus tables for food and a lovely fire pit!  Was a little worried about the weather and all the rain that was supposed to be coming.  But Saturday could NOT have been more perfect.

Me struggling to remember how to put the tent up

The kids LOVED the tree house!

We had a great time hiking, picking wild flowers, playing games and just enjoying each others company.  It really was a wonderful time!  Unfortunately, the rain (and thunder) did come.  We packed up early Sunday morning and headed home.  But I think everyone was tired!  I seemed to be the only one that didn't sleep.  I'm a bit too old to be sleep without an air mattress.  And I couldn't believe how loud the birds and frogs were!  I'm am still hurting a few days later.

I will really miss this lovely group of girls and ladies.  I hope this tradition continues along with Girl Scout of Istanbul!
