Procrastination is my middle name
So I am finding a minute of free time in front of the computer so I thought I'd blog. Really... I'm supposed to be cleaning the office and sat down for a second. Then decided that playing on the computer would be much better than cleaning. heheh....
I am SO ready for the holidays. I love Christmas!! The pretty lights, the smell of a live tree, and spoiling my kids rotten. And spoiled they will be. After a tight year last year... little overtime and tuition... this year I went a little crazy. I started saving money at the beginning of the year. There was no tuition to pay and Ford loosened their purse strings just a bit. So I decided it was time for another big Christmas. Even a HUGE party. Well... I love all my grand plans, but do I really have the energy? We have all been sick over the last two weeks. Nate and I are the last to have it. Today would have been better spent in bed. But alas, supermom was up at 6:30 (awake @5am) and out the door to take the girls to school. Lots of crappy stuff happened during preschool hours but not going to get into that. Now it's nap time and here I am cleaning the office. It's almost done. My parents will be here tonight. So if I hurry and vacuum and I can a two hour nap before the bus. They can put on their own sheets. :) And the rest of my messy house will have to wait. If they are lucky.... I will run the vacuum when I get home from the bus. I find that my chores are getting put on the back burner again. And I'm sure this annoys Joel, since he works all day. But I'm finding I'd rather snuggle with the kids or play with them. My baby boy is 18 months! He's such a boy now and it makes me sad that he's growing up so quickly. I truly think I'm babying him too much to keep him young. We've never been one to baby our kids. I keep thinking I still have time to have another one. But as much as complain about our house being too small for the three we have.... maybe not. And then the toys all over and the printer jammed again from Nate shoving things in it. Plus with Joel working so much, I've been pretty much a single mom. Makes me appreciate the time I do have with Joel. On the flipside..... there's the chubby cheeks, the sweet baby smell, that first smile.... I could go on and on.
Anyways, Nate is really picking up words. Surprisingly not as much has his sisters but he's more quality than quantity. Must be one of those engineer tendencies we keep seeing. :) He's been saying JoJo for a while now. But the other day I was yelling for Elly... which we tend to call her Elly Belle. Nate was a few feet from me but making these noises. I just thought they were noises.... but he was saying Elly Belle! It's the cutiest thing I've ever heard! Hopefully I can record him saying it and post it. My kid rocks.... we'll they all do. :) Jocy is still surprising up with the things that come out of her mouth. She told her daddy that she didn't want to disappoint me. What 6 year old says that and understands what it means? Elly's big accomplishments - not crying at drop off and she can spell her name. She's been practicing writing it but only has the E down. I'm pretty impressed, but St. Gabe's rocks!
Ok... I am now going to crawl into my nice warm bed and take a nap. Did I mention it's only 38 degrees right now. Amazingly, it wasn't too cold. I quite enjoyed it. Makes my sinus headache feel a bit better. hmm... maybe I'll just roll off the chair on to the futon zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...............
